Gutter Busters“…I am the mother of 4, but just within the last 6 months my 4th came to live with us.  After having suffered through 6 years of abuse, both mentally and physically, being anorexic at the age of 12, and being termed a "POW" by his psychiatrist, and having watched his dad being taken out of the house several times by police officers on domestic violence charges, he had the worst view of police officers.  Coming here and being afforded the opportunity to spend time with an officer who wasn’t going to arrest someone...has made a world of difference for him and his belief that all cops are

“bad” because they are doing their job. …He has even recently made comments to me that he might like to become a police officer when he gets older….”

"As the Chief of Police in Waterford, Wisconsin, I have worked with Bob Kraemer and the Cops and Kids program for several years.  The program has provided tremendous outreach to children and teenagers in our community and surrounding communities.  Our children are constantly being courted to become involved in the drug culture and there is always the potential that they may be approached by someone intent on exploiting or abducting them.  The Cops n Bobbers and Gutter Busters programs have allowed our officers and children to enjoy time with each other while building lasting trust that police are there to help.  We work into the conversation the dangers of drugs.  Stranger Danger has been a great learning experience that teaches our children how to react when approached by a friendly stranger.  They do not know our stranger is an actor, and it has been easy to get nearly all of them into the stranger's car.  This training makes it much less likely our kids would do the same in a real situation.  These programs are highly praised by parents, kids and the community.  Cops and Kids make the programs easy to administer, and I highly recommend them."

Cops % Bobbers“….I am a former Pewaukee High School student who is now attending UW Platteville...I have been a volunteer for the Pewaukee Police Dept. youth programs.  I would say these programs are great for the children in Pewaukee.  They also have been very beneficial to me.  Volunteering with Officer Kraemer has taught me a lot.  It has taught me some very valuable lessons in my life.  Responsibility, respect and hard work.  These programs teach kids they can have fun, make friends and keep themselves out of      trouble…for some kids, this could be a new experience, a first for some of them….”

“…..Thank you so much for the creative and instructive program.  Your excellence gave our grandchildren a high regard for (the) department as well as valuable information about water safety and the environment.  As grandparents we really admire your work in this area and hope you continue teaching children respect for law enforcement”
